The Residency is just around the corner! We’ll be announcing our new cohort later in the month and we are thrilled to be hosting them. The Eastern Oregon Filmmaker Residency is a special program in which we host up to six visiting writers / directors at The Lodge at Hot Lake Springs from April 30-May 26. The time is spent crafting, refining, and developing a screenplay that has the potential to be produced in our valley. The program launched in 2021 with an incredible batch of Filmmakers that led to the exciting and much talked about filming of “Breakup Season” in La Grande last month.
The program creates collaborative space for talented filmmakers to enrich and inform their stories with the geography, history, and cultural aspects of our wonderful community and region. Artists will connect with local businesses, organizations and Eastern Oregon University. They will dine at local restaurants, shop downtown and live here for one month. There will be a public presentation at HQ (112 Depot Street) near the end of May to share the culmination of the group’s efforts and celebrate the stories that emerged from the program.
A big thank you to Oregon Film, Eastern Oregon University, Roundhouse Foundation, The Lodge at Hot Lake Springs and Praise Photography for their support of this incredible program.
EOFF is seeking Industry, local business and personal contributions to help ensure the success of the program. We also ask that you help feed participants! It is imperative that these creatives eat! The Feed a Filmmaker Fundraiser is a great way to donate to the food costs associated with the program while shouting out your favorite local eateries.
There are many opportunities locally to get involved with assisting in the program, please consider signing up to be a VOLUNTEER.
