A highlight of the festival will be the ‘homecoming’ screening of the feature film Breakup Season. Directed by H. Nelson Tracey, Breakup Season follows a young man who brings his girlfriend to his rural Oregon hometown, where things take an unexpected turn. The film features a stellar cast including Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead), Samantha Isler (Molly’s Game, Captain Fantastic), James Urbaniak (Oppenheimer, The Fabelmans), Brook Hogan (feature debut), Carly Stewart (Fragile.com), and Jacob Wysocki (Pitch Perfect, Unfriended). “Breakup Season” was cultivated from The Eastern Oregon Filmmakers Residency and was shot entirely in La Grande Oregon in the winter of 2023. Independently produced and financed, this project is proud to have the Eastern Oregon Film Festival as its non-profit fiscal sponsor and EOFF is proud to share it at our Fifteenth Annual Festival.
As Breakup Season continues its film festival journey, the small town of La Grande, Oregon, takes center stage, influencing and engaging audiences across the country. This film, deeply rooted in our community, showcases the unique charm and complexities of La Grande, making it a foundational background for the family’s narrative, resonating with viewers everywhere.
