Big News: Bad Day for Bigfoot Production is Officially a Go!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE : [La Grande, Oregon} – Bad Day for Bigfoot will begin filming in the backwoods of Eastern Oregon this June! Following the path forged by Breakup Season — filmed right here in La Grande — this highly anticipated production is set to bring an unparalleled surge of creative fun and high-energy excitement directly to the Grande Ronde Valley. The genre-bending journey, which masterfully weaves humor, suspense, and heart, will leverage the region’s dynamic creative scene and stunning natural backdrop.

Beyond the creative buzz, this film production is making a tangible commitment to Eastern Oregon’s economy by investing directly into the local community throughout every stage of filming. This dedicated production spending will directly fuel local businesses, covering needs from lodging at local hotels, inns, and vacation rentals to dining at local restaurants, cafés, and caterers, as well as utilizing services from area vendors, hardware stores, rental shops, artists, and tradespeople. By choosing La Grande as its home base, Bad Day for Bigfoot is not just making a movie—it is powerfully strengthening Eastern Oregon’s future as a destination for independent filmmaking.

Bringing together a dynamic team of creative talent from Los Angeles and throughout Oregon, this project emphasizes deep collaboration with local artisans, vendors, and businesses across Eastern Oregon. Keep an eye out for upcoming casting updates for this genre-bending journey—a film that masterfully weaves humor, suspense, and heart in a style often compared to Fargo meeting Tremors. Positioned in an actual Sasquatch hot spot, the narrative explores a Bigfoot hoax that unravels into chaos, sparking an intense confrontation between deceptive hoaxers, curious investigators, and a mysterious presence truly inhabiting the wilderness.

Production Opportunities

Bad Day for Bigfoot is actively creating opportunities for local community members to participate in the production, both on and off camera. The film is currently seeking local background extras for upcoming scenes, with an immediate need for small-town bar patrons and children ages 9–13 to appear as campers in key summer camp sequences. The production is especially interested in people with “80s-friendly” wardrobe options — denim, timeless outdoor wear, and camp-style clothing are encouraged, while visible logos and trademarks should be avoided. Parents submitting children are asked to include a recent photo along with general information such as age and height. In addition to casting opportunities, local production assistant, crew support, and community collaboration roles are also being explored as the project ramps up across Eastern Oregon. Casting announcements and additional costume details are expected soon. For casting submissions and production inquiries, contact 📧 baddayforbigfoot@gmail.com or 📧 director@eofilmfest.com.
