Join us for a powerful evening as we present Outliers and Outlaws, an inspiring feature documentary that uncovers the vibrant and little-known history of a visionary lesbian community in Eugene, Oregon. This event is free to attend and will feature a special Q&A with Director/DP Courtney Hermann and Editor Kerribeth Elliot following the screening.

Through intimate, candid portraits, Outliers and Outlaws shares stories of creativity, resilience, and social change—capturing lesbian lives both past and present with hope, humor, and heart. The film highlights how a group of courageous women not only forged an alternative community, but ultimately transformed regional politics, mainstream culture, and LGBTQ+ history.

🎶 Narrated by queercore musician Jody Bleyle (Team Dresch, Hazel), and featuring music by iconic artists including Cris Williamson, Meg Christian, and a little-known tribute to Eugene, Oregon by Dolly Parton, this documentary brings to life a groundbreaking and joyous chapter in our shared cultural story.

Oregon-based artist Tee Corinne once observed, “The lack of a publicly accessible history is a devastating form of oppression; lesbians face it constantly.” Outliers and Outlaws addresses this erasure—fostering intergenerational conversations about marginalized identities, cultural heritage, and the importance of visibility for LGBTQ elders and younger generations alike.

Q&A with the filmmakers to follow!

Stick around after the film to hear from Director/DP Courtney Hermann and Editor Kerribeth Elliot as they discuss the making of the film, preserving LGBTQ history, and the vibrant community that inspired it all.
