The Depot Street Syncopators

(La Grande, Ore.)

About

The Depot Street Syncopators formed over a decade ago to bring swinging horn-heavy New Orleans style funk, latin, jazz, and blues to rural Eastern Oregon. The group’s initial plan was to play once a year on Mardi Gras. Over time it became increasingly difficult to stick to such a limited schedule. When the eleven members of the Syncopators break out their instruments, it’s party time. Every show is likely to have several special guests joining the ranks. The group has headlined Cycle Oregon, Tunes After Totality, and many La Grande community celebrations. A majority of the band is comprised of Music Faculty and Alumni from Eastern Oregon University.
